If the total of products/ total of amount comes in decimal ...how should it be rounded off...if decimal is more than 0.5 we should consider next num to whole num...if it is less than .5 we should consider the whole num... or whatever the decimal we should round off to nxt num...

Yamuna SYes I too thought the same...but in class every decimal is rounded off to next number...
Suppose 27.2 means 28 th day bcz in case of hours after 12'o' clock of midnight, it is 28th only, it can be after 2 mins or even 2hrs or even 20 hrs. So technically speaking this should be the estimate.

But in icai sm they rounded off to nxt num only if decimal is more than .5 ... should we follow that or whatever taken in class ...which will be considered correct in exam pov

Yes, u can follow what sir said. Write, 27.2~ 28 is taken as 28. If u are comfortable with Module computation then no problem. I wish u see in yt about this chapter, how 2 or 3 teachers are dealing with this aspect.

Yamuna SBut answer in both cases answer changes...
One thing u do simply follow module, to be on safer side... Bcz key answers are prepared based on module. So follow module

It has to be rounded off to next day. This is how it works practically.
But sir,in exams what should we do... follow study material or as you said?

ICAI is also not consistent! For e.g. look at Q.No.3 of this pdf https://resource.cdn.icai.org/38504bos28155cp7.pdf 34.43 is taken as 35. So to be in safe position, you can do rounding down/up and also present an alternate assumption stating that if rounded up to next number, the ADD would be -----

Thank you sir...and I have another doubt too...in case total of products/total of amount calculated on basis of months...the decimal should be converted into days ...in case it is based on days it should be rounded off ...am I right sir?
