The term is used in case a company has subsidiaries. Standalone financial statements mean financial statements of single company / entity only i.e. holding company only. They represent financial position and performance of holding company, without considering position and performance of subsidiaries. When it includes financial position and performance of subsidiaries, they are known as consolidated financial statements.
