Why revaluation reserve are not called free reserve?
latest answer
Because of the origin of revaluation reserve. It comes into existence when say management decides its land is actually valued at Rs.20 lakh instead of Rs. 15 lakh, it will increase the asset value by Rs. 5 lakh and create a reserve of Rs. 5 lakh. In relaity this profit has not been realised. It is just a book entry. So, law says don't take it as Free Reserve i.e. it is not available for distribution as dividend to shareholders.

But again in last entry why is it showing still 10000 should be given already anup took it and sent remaining balance na Basically i didn't understand properly last three entries
latest answer
Suresh had to pay a bills payable. When he did not pay, that liability of Rs.10,000 willl become active as we are cancelling the bills payable entry. Create Anup's Account, you will understad better.

In this question the final dividend paid on March 31,1980, is pre-acq dividend isn't it? If it is pre-acq and this dividend recieved by holding from subsidiary co. was correctly recorded in their accounts then why reduce it from cost of investment when actually there is no rectification required. The dividends recieved are properly recorded then why there is need for this rectification. Why reduce from Cost of investment
latest answer
The question says that the company paid 1,10,000. So this is the total amount paid. From this we need to reduce pre acquisition dividends.
