Bad debts recovered
Accountancy
answered on 03-Dec-21 15:10
In the question attached below, for the BAD DEBTS OF PREVIOUS YEAR RECOVERED, they have did 2 things(which I highlighted) 1-Added the amt.(bad debts recovered) as pre-incorporation income 2- Added that amt. to current year's bad debts and collectively they have been deducted on sales ratio. Here, why they have done the thing which I have mentioned in point 2. I could understand the logic of point 1 but I couldn't understand the point 2. Can you please explain in detail.

Can anybody please tell me "why do we transfer mark on inter departmental sales to markup account & don't transfer markup on sales?" Why actually markup account is prepared
latest answer
Markup is gross profit as a percentage of sales added to transfer price. When inter-department transfers are based on market price, the sale proceeds of the department are credited in Memorandum Departmental Stock account and amount of â??Mark upâ?? is credited to the Departmental Mark up Account such that only the cost of the product is identified as closing stock needs to valued at stock in financial statements

Is calls in Arrear an Asset?I think it's an asset because it's an income which is earned but not received hence its an asset if not please tell me what it is and also the reason
latest answer
share capital receipts are not an income / revenue Calls in arrears account have a debit balance, this is due to the fact that calls in arrears are an asset for the company as they are receivable
