Sir the treatment given for provision for discount on debtors is wrong I think?

latest answer

Those adjustments are followed only when those are GIVEN in trial balance. If they are not given in trial balance and given in adjustments instead, then the treatment given in last column will be followed

Liquidation of company

Accountancy

answered on 13-Dec-21 16:51

Why we are not writing off preliminary expenses and dividend in liquidation final statement sir.

latest answer

Preliminary expenses had already been paid in earlier years. Here it's just the portion which is to be written off. No payment is involved. Here, we already have preference dividend as ledger balance, it means it has already been paid off. So, nothing more to pay

Sir when the goods are sent on "to pay" then should we treat them as consignors expense or consignee's expense??

latest answer

That's because even if the consignee pays freight , the expense is related to consignor. So it is like consignee paying expense on behalf of consignor. So as it is consignor's expense, we add it ( to-pay freight ) in transit.

Illustration 8 Why trade payables entry is done for 72000 instead of 36k?

latest answer

Trade payables are settled with shares from shares surrendered a/c . Here we should not credit or debit any account to shares surrendered account. So 1st we are sending whole amount of trade payables to reconstruction a/c to close trade payables a/c and then pass entry for issue of shares from shares surrendered account
