1) Does working Notes carry marks, would they reduce marks if we computed the Answer by mind calculation and wrote without working notes? 2) Is working notes required for all adjustments we do? 3) would they reduce marks if we write working Notes directly in the Answer by putting(Add, Less...); Instead of writing it separately under working notes.

1. Working notes carry marks. 2 & 3Simple working notes can be given in main solution (like 10% of 10,000 = 1,000)

Here they have credited partners capital account under the head goodwill why is it so??? Arundhati supposed today bit the incoming partner? Why?

Yes but we are not supposed to show the amount of goodwill under the head GOODWILL and here they have used the name goodwill

My Balance sheet for Amalgamation question did not tally. I want your help to point out where my mistake is. Please. This seemingly easy question gave me a sleepless night. I have attached my answer with workings for Question 3(a). Where is my mistake? How much marks can I expect out of 15?
