First a BRS is prepared to identify the reason for difference. Then entries which should have been passed are passed in books. Again a final BRS is prepared. For exams, if adjusted cashbook is not asked you can just prepare BRS.

Dividend received by the bank not recorded in cash book. Adjustment: dividend is recorded in bank - so bank balance has increased - so cash book balance also has to be increased - Therefore it should be ADDED

Yeah bro tnx! But my question is whether reconciling or rectification as it was not recorded in cash book. Like omission entries should form adjusted cashbook. That was my doubt actually!!!

Dividend received by the bank is not recorded in the cash book. It is reconciling part. if you go from cash book to passbook then add it if you go from passbook to cash book then deduct it.
