Hey, the correct solution is as follows, Overdraft Balance as per Passbook(Dr) (12500) Add: Cheques deposited but not cleared{2100-175} 1925 interest and charges directly debited by bank 200 Amount debited in cash book but not banked 250 Less: Cheques issued but not yet cleared{4000-600} (3400) Unfavourable balance as per cash book(Cr) (13525)

I am not able to understand why Rs 250 is being added ? Please reply

Hello, 250 is the amount debited(reducing negative balance) in cashbook but corresponding effect was not given in passbook. As a result passbook shows high negative amount than cashbook so in order to bring it down to cashbook balance we add 250.
