Can you please explain the meaning and relevance of the sentence inside the bracket ,sir? No adjustments are there related to that in the solution.

They updated the illustration and forgot to delete that line
If that is there in question, The income of Holding Co should be reduced by the dividend amount and the Subsidiary Co's dividend expense should be reduced by the same amount ,right? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Holding company income - yes But not from expense of subsidiary. As dividend paid is not expense
