In this case if D option not given then we select option C ( both) Here D is given then we select option D Because there are given one regration line As par one regration line we can't say it's X on Y Or Y on X or both That's why answer is we can't say

My explanation right or wrong???

y = bx + a is Y on X X = by + a is X on Y. These are ways to read the regression equation. Its like finding Y if X is known in first case Finding X if Y is known in second case.
