Contribution made underCGST(Central Govt. Health Scheme) and ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) is allowed under under Section 80D of Income Tax Act. Central Government Health Scheme. ... CGHS is a special health scheme for the government employees. The medical facilities are provided through Wellness Centres (previously referred to as CGHS Dispensaries) / polyclinics under Allopathic, Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sidha and Homeopathic systems of medicines. Contribution made under ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) is allowed under under Section 80D of Income Tax Act. A deduction of Rs. 25,000 can be claimed for insurance of self, spouse and dependent children.
