Normally Cashbook is updated after seeing the passbook , so how is it updated in person or it also has e-cashbook system where it gets automatically updated...? That's my question ,hope you get it now !

The only automation in cashbook is based on the receipts and payment entries made by the cashier. Using some electronic book keeping softwares like tally, once a receipt is raised or payment voucher is raised, cash book gets updated. Cash book is checked with bank pass book or bank statement at the period end (monthly usually) and make entries for direct debits or credits by the bank
