Are the direct questions ( theory based, not case study based ) in CA foundation Law exam predictable or some portions can be selected for direct questions ?

Are the direct questions ( theory based, not case study based ) in CA foundation Law exam predictable or some portions can be selected for direct questions ? One of my friends told me that Questions like Exceptions to Supervening Impossibilty or Modes of Dissolution of firm without intervention of court, such questions do not come in form of direct theory based questions but always come as case based questions. Is this apprehension of my friend true ? Topics from which direct questions come and those from which case based questions come are distinguishable and separate and easily apprehensible ?

latest answer

Mostly case-study based questions are only asked in the exams. Direct questions are less likely to come in exams. We cannot exactly predict the topics that will come as direct questions and case study based questions. Refer to the past year question papers (PYQs), Mock Test Papers (MTPs) & Revision Test Papers (RTPs). It will give you an idea of the question paper pattern. However, there is no need to worry. Case-study based questions are not that difficult. You just have to identify which concept is being tested in that question. If you hit that point right, you can frame the entire answer and get good marks. Present your answer in the following manner for case-study based questions: (1) Provisions of the Law (2) Facts & Analysis of the case (3) Conclusion This is the pattern followed in ICAI's suggested answers. Presenting answers in this format will help you score good marks. Don't give conclusion in the beginning itself. First, write the provisions. Then, write the facts of the case and your analysis and then, you have to give your conclusion. As soon as you finish a chapter, practice the questions of that chapter from RTPs. It will help you in gaining confidence. You will get an idea of the type of questions being asked in examinations and the way of answering them. The more questions you practice, the more easier it will become.
