What is disinvestment and divestment? And how it can be differentiated, because both seems same

Disinvestment means an action of an organisation or a government selling or liquidating the assets.Â Divestment means that an action or process of selling off subsidiary business interests or investment.

Both the terms are used interchangeably. Sadly our material has stated these as different terms. Generally speaking - when investments are sold - its disinvestment When part of business is sold - its divestment.
