Can someone pls explain me the concept of repeal in brief

Repeal means cancel that as if it never existed and it shall have no effect to anything prior of after such cancellation. Example VAT is repealed. However, repealing any Act does not change anything done as per the act in the past when it was prevalent. Repealing is different from deletion. Deletion means such provision or act existed till the date of deletion. But does not exist on situation after deletion.

Revival of repealed enactments [Section 7] ô?°? To revive a repealed statute, it is necessary to state an intention to do so. ô?°? This section applies also to all Central Acts made after 3rd January 1968 and to all Regulations made on or after 14th January 1887.
