Hello! I saw the video posted regarding the new policy of ICAI on your youtube page but have a few doubts. So I'm going to enter the course through the direct entry and previously it was like only if I completed 9 months of articles, I could sit for inter exams. But in the new policy we can do articles only after completion of inter. My doubt is that now is it compulsory for me to do articles before writing my inter exam or can I write the exam without doing articles. I haven't decided on which attempt because it depends on this decision. Could someone please clarify? thank you!

Now, if you register under direct entry route, after 8 months, you can write Inter. And only after clearing both groups of Inter, you can start articleship/practical training. In the new proposed scheme, a student can commence practical training only after qualifying both groups of intermediate and there is a common study period of 8 months for students whether entering through foundation or direct entry route.

No. If you register now you will be in the old scheme and not the new scheme. The new scheme's implementation date is not yet known. We will get more clarity on applicability dates etc only after July 1st week
