What is the meaning of house of banks here ??

latest answer

The "House of Banks" refers to the bank accounts that a company has, and how they are organized within the company. In SAP ERP, the House Bank is a feature that helps companies manage their bank accounts for financial transactions such as payments, receiving payments, and managing cash transactions. A company can have multiple House Banks, each representing a different set of bank accounts. The House Bank is used to define the bank accounts that will be used for payment transactions, reconciling bank statements, managing cash positions, and performing other bank-related activities.

In the book, it is written that market risk refers to the risk in the bank's trading book. But as an example they have given, "Reduction in the share price of the bank". How can reduction in share price of the bank be a risk in the bank's trading book?

latest answer

Hi.. The explanation given in the study material doesn't seem to be right. When the loans are sanctioned against the value of shares of other company and if the prices of those shares go down then it poses Market risk to the bank.
