Companies typically pay interim dividends on a quarterly or six-month basis before the end of the year.

Time criteria is not considered in the calculation. Interim dividend @10% declared on say 30 Nov, 20X1 in the financial year 20X1 - 20X2, would simply mean apply 10% to share capital
