How do you get to know what to write in heading column of investment accoun, sometimes its no. Of share and ammount, sometimes its cost and nominal value, how do you figure this out?

in fixed investment account's column there are 1. facevalue/ no. of shares column - it is just an information column 2. interest column 3. cost column in fluctuating investment a/c 1. facevalue/ no. of shares column - it is just an information column 2. dividend column 3. cost column in case of 1. in both case we can use facevalue/ no. of shares
