latest answer

Section 9(i)(vi) of the Act provides for the definition of ‘royalty’. Royalty is considered as deemed to accrue or arise in India if the said income is payable by: - the Government; or - a person who is a resident, except where payable for the purposes of a business or profession or source of income of the resident outside India; or - a person who is a non-resident, for the purposes of a business or profession or source of income of the non- resident in India. Residents are taxable on their worldwide income. Royalty income earned by residents are taxable in India. The tax rate for royalty income applicable to residents depend upon the status. - Sec 115BBF In case of non-residents, the taxability and the tax rate for royalty would depend upon whether the non-resident has a permanent establishment (“PE”) in India as per the Act or not, and the right, property or contract in respect of which the royalties are paid is effectively connected with such PE. - Sec 115A

It is easy to do ACCA after CA, as you have to write only 4 papers in ACCA. But, it is a bit difficult to do CA after ACCA, as you won't get any exemptions in CA. Still, it is possible with dedication, consistency and efforts.
