How cut throat competition leads to misallocation of resources? Pls explain
latest answer
Cut-throat competition can lead to misallocation of resources, as businesses focus on short-term gains, replicate efforts, engage in price wars, and neglect long-term investments. example : smart phone industry , ride sharing industry like uber , ola telecom industry In the Indian telecom industry, the intense competition between major players like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea has led to misallocation of resources. Reliance Jio's entry disrupted the market by offering significantly lower prices for data and voice services. In response, competitors were forced to match those prices, resulting in reduced revenue and profitability for all players. This price war has limited the resources available for investment in network expansion, infrastructure development, and service quality improvement. As a result, the industry has faced challenges in delivering consistent network coverage and quality, impacting the overall customer experience
