Ascertain goods
Corporate & Other Laws
answered on 25-Oct-22 00:07
What are ascertain goods please give an example?
latest answer
Ascertain goods means the goods which you have selected for agreement or contract of sale out of a large number of similar goods present in the storehouse of the seller. If you go to a fruit shop and ask for 1 kg of oranges the fruit seller will choose the oranges and pack it for you. This is unascertained goods. If you select the oranges yourself and tell the shopkeeper to pack only those oranges these oranges are now called Ascertained goods. Alternatively if after the shopkeeper has packed the oranges and given it to you, you open the packet and check the oranges to your full satisfaction then also the oranges can be called Ascertained goods. Please read carefully whether the question says about ascertained goods or unascertained goods because the provisions are different for each of them in the Sales of Goods Act
