In the question the underlined one i.e Rs.300 lakhs including profit of Rs.40 lakhs,is that Rs.300 lakhs inclusive of profit ? Then the carrying amount of Investment = 25% of 260 Share of Profit = 25% of 40
latest answer
Net assets is basically the capital or equity. Profits increase net assets of an entity. When there are profits, we include share of net profit as a part of carrying amount of investment basically increasing the net worth.

Calculator's Function
Financial Management
answered on 03-Oct-25 09:48
FOR EVERY STUDENT (Using CASIO MJ-12D), when i hit 1*1.1 and = five times, i get only 1.1 as result. But when i reverse the order, i.e. 1.1*1 and = for five times i get the correct answer as 1.61051. My calculator interpretion is , it uses the first number to repeat the function applied, and not the later number. everyone's calculator does the same?

i have used MRC and GT functions and got used to it. but this is the first time i am seeing how my calculator function when it multiplies two number. if the mulitiplication funtion is used continously by pressing '='. and i saw, this is how it works. a >< b = c, if the operation is repeated by pressing '=', it answers in this way:- c >< a = d d ><a = e e >< a= f so when i type as sir said 1 >< 1.1 for any number of time, i will only get 1.1 in the end. bcuase my calculator will use 1 repeatedly for multiplication function . Hence this is a good opportunity for me to understand how my calc works. BESIDES THIS, i have a doubt in the lecture video (DOUBT) checking the PV TABLE of 8% for the 5th year should be calculated like (1/1.08)^5 but sir did only 1.08^5? and for 10% it should be (1/1.1)^5, but sir continued with 1.1^5? WHY?

Earnings Price approach
Financial Management
answered on 02-Oct-25 14:52
Sir i find it difficult to understand how the earnings of the company is acting as cost. In case of Dividend, it is something payable to the shareholders, hence this can me termed as cost. But how Earnings is termed as cost . IF am not wrong!, is it in the sense that, the more the company earns, the more it can pay dividend. ? [Video Time Stamp: 05:24]

sir, the fomula is digged deeper in my memory because of the visual representation you gave in previous video. i have one specific doubt in the fomula, (notwitstanding anything contrary to the text book of icai) the portion of the formula which has (LR-HR) will always be 1%, isnt it? even if we forget to write this portion in the formula we will still be ariving at right answer. Suppose in a hurry we forget to write the fully fledge formula, marks will be deducted? [Video Time Stamp: 03:18]

but yes, i agree, that in exams it will depend on the question. the question might provide us the two nearest rates, and probably they might be in decimal values as well. so i agree. I will stick with the forumal.
