Why do we take administration overheads(general)(ie..fee paid to independent directors,eventhough they are not related to production of goods) into consideration for ascertaining the cost of sales?

cost sheet is a statement that shows the various components of total cost for a product which shows Prime cost, Factory cost, Cost of Goods sold, cost of sales i.e. all elements of total cost, If administrative overheads are associated with that product (not direct costs) , such costs will also be included
