Query on Exchange Position

AFM

answered on 21-Aug-25 09:40

Sir, is my interpretation mentioned below is correct?? 1) Exchange position does include the contracts where actual delivery might or might not occur. 2) Nostro account deals only with actual delivery of currency. 3) Overbought means my purchase of currency is more than my sale of currency. Denotes that i have balance in the account due to purchases. [Video Time Stamp: 07:30]

In the Schweser notes, the probability chapter only has 3 los (a,b,&c) but video contains los after c i.e los d,e,f,g etc what should be done and for the exam should i be concerned about Los d,e,f,g or just focus on Los a,b,c [Video Time Stamp: 21:30]

Is set theory being used for the probability formulas? P(A or B) : P(A)+P(B) - P(AB) and is P(AB)=P(A) * P(B) [Video Time Stamp: 17:19]

latest answer

Yes—the union formula P(A or B) draws directly from set-theory principles applied to probability. the simple product P(A) × P(B) equals P(AB) only under the special condition of independence. If independence is not stated or cannot be assumed, you must use the conditional-probability version

answered on 22-Aug-25 16:39

Sir, with respect to provision towards lease contract. Here the company will have both ROU Asset and lease liability in the books. We are creating the provision for ₹430 lakhs, how will be the entry? There is already lease liability in the books, do we create additional liability to the extent of ₹430 lakhs? Could you please explain.

latest answer

PV will be the lease liability (we are creating lease liability as per Ind AS 116). Here provision is in reference to lease liability.
