Why are we not passing journal entries for 31st march 20X1. Its ok that it is asked only to pass entries as on 31.03.20X2 but why are we charging the entire cost(432000) to Fy20X1-X2 when the vesting petiod begins on 01.01.20X1 and ends on 31.03.20X2 (totally 15months) ? Only 345600 should be charged to p&l of 20X1-X2 and the remaining should be charged off in FY20X0-X1 right?
latest answer
Its should be 01-01-X2 in question

PGBP u/s 38( building partly used for business purpose and partly used for residential purpose)
Direct Taxation
answered on 09-Apr-21 09:42
Under section 38 an assessee has purchased a building for 1 crore rupees and this building is used for both residential purpose and business purpose and a prorata basis 1:1 what will be the depreciation benefit of the assessee under section 32{dep rate @10%} and what is a closing wdv of the asset Closing WDV is 90 lakhs How it is 90 lakhs I think it is 95 lakhs ...1cr -- 5lakhs {1cr 10% ÷2} ...is it right ????
latest answer
Please go through the video (second part) once again..... The deduction u/s 32 i.e depreciation is allowed on prorata basis (i.e 1:1 for the example, so Rs.5 lakhs will be allowed as deduction from profits of the assessee ) but the value of buidling (WDV will have to consider the full depreciation) will have to consider the rfull rate of depreciation as per the block of assets category.... So next year opening WDV is 90 lakhs - Depreication allowed is Rs.4.5 lakhs for business purpose and Closing WDV = 90L - 9 L=81 L

Im the seller of rice bag of 10kg...I've entered into a contract on Jan 1 to supply of 10 kg of rice @rs 50 per kg to Mr.A on March 1. On Feb 21 the contract came to end by Mr A due to the rate of rice reduced to Rs.40 per kg (Breach of contract by the customer)..In case of such anticipatory breach ,the aggrrieved party ( the seller) also cancel the contract .So now , Can the seller claim damages for the loss occured of Rs 10 per kg ( due to current market price factor)

Sir.... In documentation.......is documenting about audit procedures alone enough (or) should we also need to document the "audit techniques" followed to obtain the audit evidence?
latest answer
The auditor shall prepare audit documentation that is sufficient to enable an experienced auditor having no previous connection with audit, to understand. Audit techniques are tools, methods or processes by means of which an auditor collects necessary evidence to support his opinion. These techniques are depending upon the auditor skills and judgement and need not be documented.
