Impairment of asset

Financial Reporting

answered on 02-Jun-25 13:01

Sir, Once the asset is accounted for HFS, then there wont be change in value right, so the balance will remain at the amount after reducing impairment loss on HFS right, so is that the reason for PPE and intangible asset the balnce remains same on carrying value just after reclassification and carrying value of year ending x2, Sir one more doubt, why at the end of year end x2 again impairment is calculated which resulting in effecting balance already accounted for HFS... is it because of prudence

latest answer

The balance of HFS asset might change if Fair value or costs to sell changes subsequently.

Sir, the beta of debt is often assumed to be zero, because debt payments are generally fixed and do not fluctuate with market conditions. Can you please explain when the Beta of debt will not be zero, and which factors indicate that the Beta of debt is not zero?

When risk of non payment of Company's debt's is linked to economic conditions then debt beta is not equal to zero. Even if it is non zero it is very small number

Where is solution of this question in book ???

latest answer

Hi, This question has been added specifically for May 25 syllabus by ICAI. As and when ICAI adds new questions in ICAI SM , and when they ask new type of questions in the Exams, we add them to video content. Obviously it will not be possible to add them all to the printed Material as changes are frequent We add them to PDF notes. We will be uploading a new version of PDF notes along with questions asked in May 25 exams by 31st may 2025 - the revised notes have additional information on source of questions as well. kindly wait for 3 more days Secondly the same question was earlier covered in the business valuation chapter and that is still there too. Just search for external financing requirement in PDF of P 600 + and you will be able to locate the solution
