In 1st Apr 25 cr was spent on construction and in 1st May general borrowing (pref shares issued), so we will consider this past expense to calculate interest to be capitalised for 11 months from 1st May What if in the same scenario it was a 50cr specific borrowing made, then will the past expense is considered ?
latest answer
For specific borrowings, we consider full interest from the date on which conditions are satisfied. So if the entity borrows specifically in May, entire loan interest will be capitalised.
