Examination in depth vs test of controls
Auditing
answered on 27-Sep-20 12:32
I m confused as what's the difference between Examination in depth and test of controls
latest answer
Examination in depth is also known as WALKTHROUGH.....means checking the authority and process of a transaction from beginning to end. Example: from the point of raw material requirement, purchase requisition, vendor selection, quotations, placing orders, checking quality of raw material,Issuing GRN,raising Bill's payable and finally payment. TEST OF CONTROLS means type of audit procedures that an auditor performs to check ROMM at assertion level to obtain evidence to choose the amount of substantive procedure to be performed throughout the audit.

Problem 12 In this how leave encashment 26 camed ?
latest answer
It is clearly stated the leave encashment exempt is lower of a / b/ c /d . C is lowest and hence it is exempt. IF your question is how d is arrived. It clearly says in last bullet in Question that he is entitled to 30 days of leave per year of service i.e 1 month per year so 26 months for 26 years of service

Dishonor of a bill discounted with bank What if the bill is honoured Also bills collected by bank on behalf of a customer
latest answer
For entries for Bills of exchange, please refer to videos of Bills of Exchange chapter. They are also covered in pages 6.5 & 6.6 of ICAI Study Material. Link below and pages also are attached herewith https://resource.cdn.icai.org/55003bosfndnov19-p1-cp6u1.pdf What happens in BRS depends on the fact if the entity accounted or not. If both bank and the entity passed entries there is no reconciliation. If bank passed but entity did not pass entry then in the BRS , such amount should be reduced from Balance in Bank account as per books of entity in order to arrive balance as per bank.
