Notwithstanding means - irrespective of anything given any where else. For e.g Partners may, upon or in anticipation of the dissolution of the firm, make an agreement that some or all of them will not carry on a business similar to that of the firm within a specified period or within specified local limits; and notwithstanding anything contained in section 27 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 (9 of 1872), such agreement shall be valid if the restrictions imposed are reasonable. Section 27 of Indian Contract Act is Every agreement by which anyone is restrained from exercising a lawful profession, trade or business of any kind, is to that extent void. Generally S.27 makes any contract restraining trade as void. But because of partnership act provision containing notwithstanding, S.27 is overruled for purpose of IPA.

Take the balance after adjusting, reserves, goodwill revaluation loss in the accounts of remaining partners you will get 35,000 for K 28000 forM and 21000 for N. M is paid off to make it proportionate i.e. 28000 is for 4/12th ratio (present from capital accounts), now adjust it to 2/10th ratio (Profit sharing ratio). Sathya sir has solved this illustration (last illustration in the module Retirement of partner). See that it will help you understand better

Problem with standards on auditing

I had completed the subject standards on auditing but i had doubts in some standards that i wanted to watch again.I didn't know that the mock test has to be attempted within 30 days. Also,will the course get deactivated within 30 days? Weren't we told views were unlimited for all the videos. And I'm part of the nov 2020 attempt and going to write my exams as per ca intermediate new syllabus. I also didn't know that a mock test would appear so early as I'll be writing my exam in November. Also opening videos to see how long is it makes it completed but actually i was supposed to watch the last two videos. By the time i could come back and check on it, i can't find the course.
