116 - Lease incentives - Lessor
Financial Reporting
answered on 04-Apr-26 11:01
In a Finance lease, treatment for Lease Incentive by Lessor is to reduce it from Net Investment in lease. In the ICAI material, it states "Selling P/L is not affected". How does that work? Isn't Selling P/L = NIL - Carrying value ?

Part-1
AFM
answered on 23-Mar-26 14:00
Sir can we solve part-1 by following method also? Max exchange ratio acceptable to share holder of ABC- It means their MP price post merger should be at least CMP of Rs.24/- (assuming PE 8), so EPS should also be Rs.3/-. Post Merger EPS = Post Merger PAT/ Total Share count i.e. 3=1600/No of Shares So, Total No of Shares = 533.33 lakh shares Out of 533.33 lakh shares, existing shares of ABC are 400 lakh shares. So 133.33 lakh shares should be issued to XYZ (Swap ratio .667) Is approach correct sir? [Video Time Stamp: 10:54]

In Ilustration-4, More Operations done in INR, but Major Operation of Company is Trading of Imported Motorcycles, for that depends on US, Based on this why not Functional Currency is USD (My point is Here , Majorly Sales determined by US (i.e Assume this Country only Exporting Motorcycles.) [Video Time Stamp: 03:39]
latest answer
USD would be functional currency if: Sales are denominated in USD Customers are foreign (export sales) Pricing is controlled by global USD market Cash flows are mainly in USD We need to look at multiple aspects and see which is the dominant one.

Sir suppose the same facts apply, but M Ltd holds 70% in N Ltd.Then, the unrealised profit to be eliminated is complete 40K right? [Video Time Stamp: 12:30]
latest answer
For associate cases, only the share of entity is eliminated. IN case of subsidiary, entire inventory is shown in balance sheet and hence 100% is eliminated. However, in case of associate, since we do not show inventory, only entity's share is eliminated.

If Z ltd controls S ltd to the extent of 70%, applying same logic of consolidation, shouldnt the holding be 70%*0.1=7%+existing holding of 25%? [Video Time Stamp: 05:40]
latest answer
for determination of voting power we take 10%. The reason is that through S ltd, Z Ltd can decide on how to use voting of 10%.

AGM
Corporate & Other Laws
answered on 16-Apr-26 11:54
Hi mam, doubt regarding First AGM as per your video lectures you mentioned that the AGM should be held within 9 months from its date of incorporation... The same thing is provided in the notes( pg.no159), but in the study material it is given that First AGM should be held at the end of its first financial year... and it is strictly tied to the end of the first financial year not the date of incorporation... So please clarify this one mam. Thanks.

For casual vacancy caused by resignation — the Board fills within 30 days, and the appointment must be ratified at a General Meeting within 3 months — this rule applies equally to both Government and Non-Government companies.
