What is the meaning of legislation
latest answer
Legislation refers to laws that are created and enacted by a governing body, such as a parliament or legislature. It is a formal process through which rules, regulations, and statutes are established to govern a society, manage organizations, or regulate behavior. Legislation outlines the legal rights and obligations of individuals, businesses, and government entities, providing a framework within which a society operates. In simple terms, legislation is the body of laws that are passed by lawmakers to organize, control, and guide actions in a country or community. These laws are enforceable and carry legal consequences if not followed. Examples of legislation in India include: - The **Companies Act, 2013**, which regulates companies and corporate governance. - The **Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008**, which governs the formation and operation of LLPs. - The **Income Tax Act**, which deals with taxation laws.

Valuation of Bonds - Illustration 27
AFM
answered on 01-Oct-24 20:57
In this solution we have concluded that redemption option is better than conversion option (i.e., Mr. A already has the bonds at his disposal) But the question says that Mr. A has been offered the bond & asks us to determine the minimum price he has to pay if his expected return is 11%. So it means that we have to give the price of Rs. 980.785/- that he'll offer since it is the lower of the two options. Or if we assume that the equity price may go up or down but the bond returns including redemption value are fixed, the minimum price he'll be willing to pay is Rs. 1,001.88/- (i.e., irrespective of the equity prices he'll get the fixed returns on the bond)

COUPON
AFM
answered on 01-Oct-24 06:14
As per the Question we are required to calculate NAV as on 01st JULY 2016. So, for the calculation of NAV ; we add Interest accrued. In this sum 3rd & 4th security we are not taking the Interest Accrued. why? because the Coupon date is 1 day (30th June) before the date of calculation of NAV (01st July).
latest answer
Yes. If coupon is just paid, nothing would be outstanding as int accrued

Pls explain how to find a particular indicator as leading or lagging or coincident? Eg Inventory ro sales ratio Unemployment rate Rising residential building permits
latest answer
To figure out if an economic indicator is leading, lagging, or coincident, it's all about timing. when the indicator shows movement relative to the overall economy. Leading indicators are like a "heads-up" about where the economy might be headed. Ex: More building permits usually mean future construction, which signals growth ahead. This makes it a leading indicator because it gives early signs of economic movement. Lagging Indicators come after the economy has already shifted, kind of confirming that a trend has taken place. Ex: The unemployment rate doesn’t drop right when the economy starts improving, or rise the moment things slow down. It's a lagging indicator because it reacts after the economy has already moved. Coincident Indicators happen at the same time as economic changes, giving a snapshot of the current situation. Ex: Inventory to sales ratio shows how well businesses are balancing what they have in stock with what's being sold. It's a coincident indicator because it reflects the current state of the economy.
