In case of extended warranty say for 2 years - In year 1 cost for repair is not incurred but in Year 2 it is incurred. Whether provision for the same is required like in case of assurance warranty. What if no cost is incurred but only revenue from purchase of extended warranty is booked?

Calculation of 10AA
Direct Taxation
answered on 13-Mar-24 18:21
Hi sir, hope you're well. In the illustration regarding 10AA, Rudra is the one company paying tax. Its SEZ unit and non-SEZ unit are not separate legal entities. So for the purposes of considering the proportion of export turnover to total turnover, should we not consider total turnover as being Rs. 6,00,000 and profit as being Rs. 80,00,000? Because we are calculating tax for Rudra as a whole and thus take the turnover, SEZ-export and profit of Rudra as a whole to calculate. Please clarify if my understanding is correct or wrong. Thanks
latest answer
Section 10AA exemption is only based on profits related to SEZ.
