If there is other income and long term capital gain Then need to check exemption limit and find then put the tax rate of capital gain on the remaining balance. If there is only long term capital gain find in that flat tax rate without considering exemption limit. Is it correct??

latest answer

If there is only LTCG then directly basic exemption limit can be reduced from such capital gain and tax is computed. This benefit is only in case of resident Individual or HUF.

Why are we taking cost of capital as discounting rate ? What is cost of capital in this context?

latest answer

Cost of capital is the overall cost of capital (WACC). The cost of capital is often used as the discount rate in financial analysis because it represents the opportunity cost of using funds in a particular investment or project
