Considertaion of E(x) in Treynor ratio
AFM
answered on 02-Mar-24 19:49
In last ques we considered Expected return as Ri as it was given in ques and there was no way of finding Actual Return. But why we consider Expected return here? We were using AR as Ri in all cases as it is a portfolio evaluation method and portfolio is evaulated based on actuals.
latest answer
IN optimal portfolio questions if ER is given instead of AR we use it. In this question too they gave only one return number for each stock we considered that for treynor ratio computation

While solving the questions of SA 705 I can't able to write which opinion to give , becoz as at ca final level question doesn't specify whether mistatemement is persvasive or not , so how should I deal with it
latest answer
U have to analyse the question and look at the misstatement arising . With the question, u wil be able to understand if misstatement could have material impact or not. Be inter or final, misstatement is pervasive or not , we have to determine. When it’s substantially impacting many assertions , or overall financial; it’s pervasive ,otherwise not. U can also forward to question, where I can help you interpret the same .

Please look for the instructions in the video for going through the chapter. Everything will be understandable. For balance sheet items, we will be using ICAI material and the notes contains those parts which are not covered there but are in the list of questions. At the beginning of the discussion, i have explained the approach for this chapter.

Difference between Striking of Name and Winding Up
Corporate & Other Laws
answered on 02-Mar-24 20:17
Hi ma'am, hope you're well. Our study material says that for a company already incorporated, for cancellation of reserved name after incorporation, the Registrar may either: i) Direct company to change name ii) Take action for striking off the name from register of companies iii) Make a petition for winding up of the company What is the difference between ii) and iii) of the above, please? Thanks
latest answer
The fundamental difference between winding up and strike off lies in their applicability to companies. Strike off is applicable to inactive companies with no assets or liabilities, while winding up is for actively operational companies with assets, liabilities, and a need for formal closure.

Fate of Forward

1. Margin is not applicable on Inter-bank transactions? When bank sold on spot @Rs.66.15 and Forward contract for Optionally deliverable contract @Rs.66.32 did we consider margin? 2. In case of After delivery profit is not shared with customer of bank. In case of before and On delivery profit will be transferred to customers?
latest answer
1. • Over and above normal exchange margin, whenever interbank rates are given and bank has to enter into a one side trans due to cancellation request from customer, exchange margin will be applicable & it will be on the last cancellation by the bank. 2. yes before due date or on duate cancellation gains are shared with customers

Hello Sir, Can you please explain the rationale given by ICAI to place the money in Deutschmarks market?
latest answer
Ideal depreciation 1.87% i.e 1.09/1.07-1 Depreciation indicated by forward rates is 3.05% therefore in this Forward contract you are paying more CAD per DM than what is ideal. So if CAD is going to depreciate more ( as per fwd markets) i am better off taking advantage of that by borrowing in CADthe weaker currency investing in DM the stronger currency & repaying the borrowing after converting into CAD per forward rate - same thing is summarized as"int diff<fwd premium hence invest in forward currency" Exactly ulta also works If int diff > fwd premium - take advantage by investing in weaker currency Q 26 of icai material This can also be explained as icai did: SAY CAD DM int diff is 3% and fw premium is 2% then one can lock in a forward to sell CAD . So borrow in DM and invest in CAD and once deposit matures, convert CAD to DM by selling CAD and getting profit in DM

UDIN query
Auditing
answered on 02-Mar-24 23:22
Now for example I am a CA Article, I have seen format of UDIN, I just wrote a random UDIN following that format. Now, bank or the client won't check every udin if it's correct or not ? How this is tackled
latest answer
the implementation of UDIN is for the very purpose of checking on malpractices by non ca's attesting documents. When these forged or wrong UDIN documents are submitted and uploaded, it will be rejected as the UDIN portal has the mechanism of tracing the same.
