Doubt in Abandonment Option sum

AFM

answered on 10-Jan-24 18:37

Sir, in Illustration 26 in the Derivatives chapter (Airbus Joint Venture sum), the project originally has negative NPV (-20 million). But you say that considering it along with the put option gives a positive NPV of 57 million. My question is if Airbus exercises the put option, the cashflow of 480 will be reduced, right? Airbus will not enjoy the cash inflows after exiting the joint venture, right?

latest answer

Yes . Airbus will exerice put option if JV does not make any sense. At that point of time, when they abandon, they will get only 400 Mio AT that point the project will have negative NPV of 400-500 = -100 However the point to note here is that 480 Mn of PV of CF has variance of 16% so there is good possibility of PV of cashflows being 550 or 600 or any such number The value of that possibility is 72.7 Mio . Given such potential increases in cf the option value is included in evaluating the investment

Exemption new scheme

Exams

answered on 10-Jan-24 12:53

I cleared my group 1 in Nov 2022. I got an exemption in the EIS subject in the May 2023 attempt. In recent Nov 2024, I failed but I got 62 marks in the audit. Now my doubt is in the next new attempt which subjects I should write or if there is no need to write any subject.

Beta Calculation Doubt using CAPM Approach

AFM

answered on 10-Jan-24 18:32

Dear sir, In this particular Illustration, beta is computed based on the actual return. Beta will change if we compute using the provided data under correlation method. To my earlier query, it was replied that Illustration 5 will be changed Illustration 47 is the correct approach But sir is it the right approach to calculate beta with the actual return using CAPM approach Becuase Illustration 61 Beta has been computed using Corelation method instead of CAPM approach using actual return.

latest answer

Q 61 beta is already given right? Pls share correct Q no that you are referring to other than 5 / or 47
