Dear Sir, Why are we selecting and comparing selectively instead of comparing the return/risk of each security in this particular Illustration?

In this problem, they have specifically mentioned that rate should be used to calculate DBO only. And they have given the actual return also. Shouldnt we consider that only? Why are we still calculating expected return and adding the difference to OCI So, If this is the method, We can always consider the rate given for DBO as return on Plan assets as well?
latest answer
Both are calculated using expected returns only.

Beta Value Doubt
AFM
answered on 09-Jan-24 12:58
Sir, In this particular Illustration, it was asked to compute the beta value at the end of 2005. But we have computed the Beta by taking 4-year data points of security and market. sir can we compute the beta with CAPM model by taking only year end values of Expected return of security x and Return of Market and Risk free rate.

Foundation to Inter - Syllabus Change impact
Others
answered on 08-Jan-24 17:35
I've completed my Foundation in the Dec 23 attempt. Now I'm fairly confident of passing it, so I'll be writing Inter in Dec 24. ICAI's syllabus change means that I'll be missing certain new topics that will be added to Foundation from Inter. My question is, will this affect my performance in the Inter and Final exams subsequently?(Ik it won't be there jn the exams, but will it give me any advantage?) Should I go through the additions to the portions? (Especially Business Law)
