Growth not considered in next year dividend

AFM

answered on 09-Jan-24 13:03

Dear sir, Why we have not considered the growth of next year to the dividends and also why are we using P0 instead of P1 for the next year price.

latest answer

When next year dividend is already given why will use g for next year that was assumed last year Using next years data we will always compute current year price - Price on today is disc value of all future CF Po will be computed using D1 data and P1 will be computed using D2 data

answered on 09-Jan-24 10:49

In this problem, they have specifically mentioned that rate should be used to calculate DBO only. And they have given the actual return also. Shouldnt we consider that only? Why are we still calculating expected return and adding the difference to OCI So, If this is the method, We can always consider the rate given for DBO as return on Plan assets as well?

latest answer

Both are calculated using expected returns only.
