Cash book is right answer because i that is a cash transaction , all cash transaction has to be recorded in cash book ...and in journal proper we will record transactions which cannot be recorded in any of the subsidiary books / books of prime entry. Hope u can understand.

The journal entries are wrong. It is : Cash a/c dr. Discount allowed a/c dr. To debtor a/c You will allow cash discount only when debtor is making you the payment.
