Please explain these terms

Section is main context. Sub section is used when there are provisions related to main section. If its not related then we use directly clause instead of subsection. Like for definition section we only use clause serially numbered as there is no relation b/w them. While section subsection clause sub-clause provsio explaination sub item will flow based on the necessity. Every section need not be having sub section, every subsection need not be having clause and every clause need not be having sub clause.

In companies act we've 29 chapters In this chapters we've 470 sections, For these sections we've sub section and then clause... For example section 1 (subsection 4 (clause a))
