It is not necessary to always go with formula.
Can you show it with Venn diagram so as to get clarity. It is given as we have 3 box and selecting them is 1/3 and then we have conditional probability saying that selection of red ball provided that it is from 1st box and we need to calculate for 3 different boxes. From the above 2 representation i.e., one is P(R/B1)*P(B1) similarly for other boxes we get to know that is intersection itself right?
