I think only promoters fund and private placements are source of funds for unlisted public company. But I have doubt whether public deposits can be made in these unlisted companies?

Securities cannot be issue to public without listing of the company. However, Deposits can be issued provided all the conditions of Chapter 5 Acceptance of Deposits are complied.
