In the point (ii) of this illustration, why LMN Pvt Ltd is not eligible to take input tax credit... Isn't it eligible for Input Tax Credit as per section 18 (1) (d)... ?

Section 18(1)(d) applies only to person who is registered but dealing in exempt supplies and such exempt supplies have become taxable. In case of a person who is unregistered and first time applying for registration then Section 18(1)(a) will apply.
