Summary or short notes are the key. In case of practical subjects, say accounts, all the problems in a particular chapter are similar as far as basic entries are concerned. They only differ in the adjustments or interpretation part. While preparing the subject, when you encounter a new kind of adjustment, make a short note of its treatment beside the problem or along with the concepts. This will save your time and efforts in revision. Further, every chapter will have some problems, which can be called as master problems, which will cover majority of the concepts in that chapter. You can keep those problems for revision of the subject. Now coming to theory subjects, they are not dull and dry subjects, like business studies in school. Here, it's application based theory. Try to make short summary notes of them as well along with the keywords. Keywords are the vocabulary of a profession and one has to maintain that as standard. High blood pressure can't be said as blood is running faster. Now, whether to make self summary notes or buy readymade summary books? It depends on the comfort level of the student. But in case you buy the summary book, then read it after covering a chapter from the main book and mark the missing points therein by cross referencing or whatever way you may feel like.
