Sec 16 - rectification of name of company

Will it be okay if a company changes it's name within 3 months or 6 months as per the particular case but sends the notice to the ROC exceeding 15 days from the change of name but still they have sent the notice within 3 or 6 months?? How will the ROC know the company's name has been changed before 15 days??
