Mean affects to the change of origin and scale. But standard deviation affects only to the change of scale. So if the mean + SD = a+b. And if you add 2 to each and every variables of series, then New mean + SD = a+b+2

I hope that what you have said is. 1)Mean+SD = a+b 2) And not that mean = a and SD = b. Because I am little confused whether you are asking about 1 or 2
