What is the difference between marketing department and R&D department? Marketing - identify , understand ,satisfy the customer R&D- Before introduction of new product ,we make research to indentify , understand, satisfy the customer. In my point of view, I think both are similar Please tell what is the difference

Marketing has to do with identify customers requirement and fulling them. This is to acquire customers and help sales. R&D is to do with bringing new technologies and features. This is more to do with improving the existing product or offer new product.
