TO and BY in the account

sir is it compulsory in CA exam to write TO IN debit side and by in credit side with respective account in the ACCOUNT ?

no man , i think so , because in the 12th board exam in accoountancy paper i did not write it like that , it is not compulsory in board , i want know in CA

"TO" & "BY" are compulsory in CA across all levels

It's compulsory in ledger actually and while writing journal entries BY not needed

After writing To and By for 1st entries in the ledger you can use ditto mark as well for next entries.
