In this question why have they reduced depreciation from fixed cost for calculating NPV?

In every case where there is tax rate given, we first deduct depreciation and in last we add back depreciation to find the cash flow Here there is no tax rate given. So instead of subtracting 40,000 and adding back 19,000 at end, they directly subtracted 21,000 at once to give the net effect.
