Sec 80TTA (Chapter VI A deductions) SB interest received can be claimed as deduction to a limit of Rs.10000. This is can be claim by each and every Resident and ordinary resident who is below the age of 60. Senior citizens can claim this deduction U/s 80TTB upto Rs.50,000 (both SB & FD Interest ).

Section 80TTA is applicable to every Individual and HUF need not be resident.
